Hi friends!! I think it was the first week of the Quarantine, I was looking at my coffee table and realized not only was I bored with it, it was becoming a very messy catchall for toys, remotes and just “stuff”.
Ironically, yesterday, Serena & Lily put out an email on coffee table styling. I read their suggestions to see if I had followed the tips when I rearranged 2 weeks ago. Below are Serena & Lily’s 3 tips –
- Focus on what you love
- I absolutely LOVE coffee table books!! I think they are a reflection of a homeowners interests and personalities and I LOVE fresh flowers. I have been collecting coffee table books since I started living on my own out of college. To make these 4 piles, I grabbed some from my bedroom, the foyer and switched them up a bit.
- Have fun with scale
- A large item can bring drama. Here, it is my larger flower arrangement, it is tall and wide
- Collect and curate
- Clearly my collection is obvious, it is a combination of my love for fashion, interior design and travel.
I added a couple of other details that we either love and/or use. I love the blue rock…it moves from our foyer to our living room coffee table depending on the day, haha.
The Diptyque Roses candle is our favorite!! I also use the empty glass jars once we finish using the candle for makeup things in my bathroom.
And, finally, the binoculars. Those are Peter’s Dad, so they will always have a special place in our hearts. We use them to look at wildlife out our windows. Peter’s Dad, Chris, used to be obsessed with watching ospreys…he would comment each year on their nesting patterns.
There are a lot of details in these pictures so I will try and link as many as possible.
Our coffee table, it is old, from Potterybarn, maybe almost 12 years old. They have one very similar – Takhat Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table.
We purchased our rug a couple of years ago…Peter was very nervous about it, he has since fallen in love and I love it now as much as I did the day we bought it!! It’s neutral with a punch of sass!!
My flowers are from my favorite flower farm – Scarborough Farms (she is delivering to doorsteps currently!!)

Faux Fur Throw – We love this blanket so much, we bought a second one because not just the kids were fighting over who got it (insert angel emoji…haha) It is currently ON SALE
