New Sofa Throw Pillows

February 10, 2020

So, if there were any post on me being completely and totally REAL, this is it 😉  I desperately need throw pillows for one of our sofas.  The pillows are about 7 years old and well, they are the epitome of “well worn”.   My sweet Mom kept trying to subtly “hint” to me that it was time, I honestly think she did not think I had noticed…hahaha.   I had noticed but with the chaos of everyday life, it was something I could ignore (which is completely out of character for me!!)  But, it is time!!

From this distance, not so bad, huh?!?  Keep on scrolling…;-)

First though, I do have pillows in nice condition on the same sofa, hahaha.  Those are here – McGee and Company French Stripe Pillow Cover and Serena and Lily Addie Stripe Tassel Lumbar Pillow Cover

Yep…they have been in this condition for probably 6-9 months now and just progressively getting worse.  I saw each tear, but it just was not a priority.  Plus, I truly love the combination of pink and blue and have not been able to find something similar.  BUT, it is time to buckle down and buy new darn pillow covers!

YIKES!!

So, here are a couple I have come across that I like.   That being said, none of them screams “ME ME ME!!”  And, that is ok.  I do like each of them and need to replace these poor poor pillow covers.

So I would LOVE to hear your opinions.  I will number each one and would love for you to reply to this blog post or simply comment on Facebook.  Whichever method is easiest for you.  Just the number is fine (and a reason why if you have time!!).  Thank you so much!!  I hope to pull the trigger by this Friday 🙂

These are in no particular preference order.

1. Serena and Lily Luca Pillow Cover

2. Caitlin Wilson Amira Pillow Cover

3. Serena and Lily West Beach Pillow Cover

4. Potterybarn Valari Pillow Cover

5. Serena and Lily Ashby Pillow Cover

6. Linen and Cloth Ikat Indigo Pillow Cover

7. Caitlin Wilson Navy and Peach Trim Pillow Cover

8. Potterybarn Lucci Pillow Cover

9. Linen and Cloth Fuji Pillow Cover

I love 4,5, and 8. Not sure if you are only replacing the one damaged pillow. If that’s the case I’m drawn to 4! Have fun with it let me know what you decide

I think I am leaning towards 4 too…the texture is rich and I think I need the pop of color. But I also LOVE #5…the pop of white with the blue is so pretty plus, TASSELS!!! Thank you for commenting Rosemary 🙂

#2 and # 4 are my favorites! They have the same pop of pink that you liked on the original pillows & would be a great addition to the original striped pillows! I think you need to bring in a third color, the pink, with the blue & white!

Ironically, I was looking for a pillow that had the combination of the blue and pink but also a bright white because I think that would be so nice agains the beige back pillow and sofa. Great minds 😉

      Thank you for commenting!!

#4 is my pick, it adds a bit of a “feminine” touch to the space, however I also like 8 & 9. #8 reminds me of beach coral so for that reason I love the feeling it brings me. #9 is simple, soft and easy to look at. So just depends on what “feel” or energy you’re wanting to bring into the space. Excited to see the final choice.

I totally agree Kathleen!! Especially 4’s price point!! I LOVE #9 too but wondering if it would get lost and I would hate for that to happen. It deserves a lot of attention!! Thank you for you comment 🙂

You have such a lovely selection of possibilities.

If you go with #4 perhaps you’d add tassels or some type of embellishment to make it “Truly Tiffani’s.”
If any of these pillows are not exactly what you want, find fabric that excites you (perhaps from one of your travels) and have the pillows made to your specification. Not only are your pillows updated and unique, they also provide a reminder of a special time.

You may know Sheryl Tart of Slipcover Cottage. She can take any fabric and make the most amazing pillows (and slipcovers) and she’s right here in St. Mary’s County.

I absolutely love your idea using a fabric from our travels!! I think what I am going to do is purchase #4 because it is at an affordable price point and I truly need pillows ASAP, hahaha, and then find EXACTLY what I LOVE and have them made. I don’t know Sheryl but I look forward to meeting her soon 🙂 Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment!!
