Throwback Thursday, right!?! I figure I am still within the month, hahaha. This guy…oh my gosh…I am still obsessed. He may be 5 now but he is still as sweet and smart and lovable as ever.
I kind of had a Mom-fail with the birthday party thing. We had orignally planned on taking him to a Nationals game, the Thursday before his birthday. I was literally online getting ready to click PURCHASE when I saw it was a 4 PM game time. Whomp whomp. That would not work with Peter’s schedule. So then we were going to take him to a Blue Crabs game on his actual birthday, that Saturday, but it was calling for 90% chance of evening thunderstorms. Guess what, not a single drop of rain that evening. Thank goodness Shay is so darn laid back.
Let’s just say he had a football themed birthday. All he wanted was this football game. His teacher at Little Seedlings had brought it in once and he never forgot. Literally asked for it up to his birthday.
I begged him to let me fix him a waffle, a pancake…anything other than the yogurt. Nope, yogurt it was 🙂
One thing that did go our way was his flag football game was not rained out. That was his second wish for his birthday…so darn sweet. His awesome coach made him team captain for the day (thank you Chris!!) and his team made him feel pretty special on his 5th birthday!!
And, look who else showed up at his birthday game?!?! Our family/friends 🙂
We made a last minute reservation at Shay’s favorite restaurant, Dos Amigos. A couple of his friends were able to make it and it totally made his night. (So did the Michigan uniform and helmet and the football!!)
