Let me begin by apologizing for taking so darn long to post these pictures from Peru. I was going to do one HUGE post with all of the pictures, but there are just too many :-/ So, I’ll do it in stages based on where we stayed. Today is Lima 🙂
This entire trip was truly a TRIP of a LIFETIME. I think I had mentioned sometime before, Peru was more of Peter’s idea and I was certainly on board, but not quite as excited as he was. But, let me just tell you, I could not have imagined a better place or experience for us for our 10 year anniversary. If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to message me!!
LIMA, PERU
We stayed at the Belmond Miraflores Park and it was a gorgeous hotel. The food in Lima was truly incredible!!! Lima is known for it’s amazing gastronomic scene…where it incorporates traditions, creativity and distinguishability. Let me tell you, that is exactly what stood out about Lima for us, it’s food. SO AMAZING!! Their ceviche was to. die. for. and their cocktails were so fun!! Our two favorite restaurants were La Mar and Cala Restaurante & Lounge. We also had dinner at Huaca Pucllana. This restaurant is literally in the middle of Inca ruins. We were fortunate enough to sit outside and see the ruins under the lights and it was surreal…”are we really experiencing the Inca Ruins like this?!?!”
Lima was very chilly as it is constantly overcast there. We were right on the Pacifica Ocean, but you could not see very far because of the fog :-/ We spent one day here exploring, a fun park that included Paddington, a crazy making out couple/statue and saw a Zumba-like parade going on downtown taking over the streets!!
The next couple of posts will have more “exploring” pictures. We were only in Lima for 24 hours and like I mentioned, it was very overcast. Lima is the capital of Peru and the largest city in the country. It is very urban where we were and overlooks the Pacific Ocean so those are the best “picturesque” pictures we were able to get.
