Last weekend we celebrated Shay’s 4th birthday. We had such a GREAT weekend. It started at the Graduate Richmond. We had stayed there a couple months prior and just fell in love with it. The kids LOVED the bunk bed in our room and Peter and I loved everything else – the chic decor, the game room, the cafe…
We arrived on Friday afternoon, took a stroll around the hotel and then headed to the room for a short rest.
I mean…
We left the hotel and headed to the Richmond Conference Center for Jurassic Quest. We had a BLAST!! Afterwards we did a breakdown of everyone’s favorite part –
- Shay – riding the dinosaurs
- Chandler – the bounce houses
- Matti Jane – the green screen/fighting the dinosaur picture
Peter and I agreed with Matti Jane 🙂
After Jurassic Quest, we headed back to the hotel and had a bit of fun in the game room before we went to dinner. There are video games, a pool table, a ping pong table, a television and a shuffle board. Peter and I had a bit of a competitive game of ping pong going strong. I think we’ll have one in our basement fairly shortly 😉 And, by the way, the game room is adjacent to the bar…I enjoyed a glass of rose and Peter had an Old Fashioned.
How chic is their decor?!?!
We walked to Rappahannock for dinner. If you are in Richmond, I highly recommend it. Everything was delicious. Chandler, in particular, enjoyed the oysters!!
A good night’s rest was on tap. The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast in the hotel’s cafe. Everything was amazing. Peter and I had a breakfast sandwich on a homemade biscuit. The girls, on the other hand, had “vacation cereal”…aka Captain Crunch 😉
After an amazing stay in Richmond, we headed a bit north and went to Kings Dominion for a couple of hours. Talk about a blast!!! It really was a great birthday weekend for Shay!!
