What a crazy busy but super FUN weekend we just had!! I took the girls out of school early on Friday, we grabbed Peter from work and headed to Richmond for Jurassic Quest for Shay’s birthday. The kids LOVED it. Such a fun and super cool event. We had a dinner at a restaurant in downtown Richmond that was a short walk from our hotel, Rappahannock, AMAZING. If you are in Richmond, I highly recommend it. Saturday brought Kings Dominion. The weather was perfect (mid 60’s and overcast) and the park was not very crowded. As you can imagine, the kids had a blast.
Yesterday, we went to DC for the Race for Hope race. We raced in honor of our friend, Kevin McKay. It was an incredible event for an amazingly worthy cause and we were honored to be a part of it. I shared some pictures from the race on Facebook.
A girlfriend of mine has this tunic in multiple colors and every time she wore one, I always remarked about how much I loved it. I finally bought it a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing it A LOT. It is so ridiculously versatile!!
The story behind this scarf always makes me smile. When I moved to North Carolina right after Peter and I got married, I joined the Junior League. It was a recommendation of a girlfriend who had done the same when she moved to a new city and did not know anyone. It was one of the best decisions I made and through it, made lifelong girlfriends. I had the same hope when I moved to Philadelphia and joined their league, but being very pregnant and then having a newborn with no family in the city, it was difficult to be a dedicated member. One of the events I was able to attend in Philadelphia, they were selling these silk scarves and it has the logo of the Junior League of Philadelphia on it. It makes me smile every time I wear it 🙂
