Happy Hump Day. Wish me luck today…it’s a rainy field trip at a State Park sort a day :-/
So this is actually a new thought that I had a couple weeks ago, but haven’t been able to let go of it. I had recently been inspired by seeing a couple of gold framed gallery walls…one black and white pictures, one colored and just could not stop thinking about them. And then, after we received the pictures from Melissa, I just thought they would be PERFECT for this spot.
This is the spot where they would go, which is in our living room, opposite the couches.
I think the only reason I am still toying with the idea is because I really do love the art that is currently there. A. It is pink, gold blue and white…all of my favorite interior design colors. B. There is a story behind it. Mary Beth Drury is the local artist that did this and I just love that aspect 🙂
The first pictures I came across and was inspired were these.
What I really like about this picture is that the frames are gold and stand out against the black and white photos and the wall color. Very similar to what we have. Secondly, there is “stuff” on the console table that is as high as the photos, yet doesn’t compete or interfere. LOVE.
And then I came across this one on Pinterest and just fell in LOVE. It still looks like upscale art because the frames are gorgeous and the layout is perfect. But, the pictures are in color which makes them so real.
So, what are your thoughts?? Do I keep it like it is…
Or change it to a chic (probably black and white pictures) gallery wall?!?! PLEASE let me know your thoughts!!
I love the artwork, and it really fits the room nicely. However, people always want to see photos so a gallery wall would work and link into the pictures going up the steps. The art work could go in another place in the house so you could have the best of both.
I completely agree. I LOVE the artwork too but also feel like pictures of the family always puts a smile on our faces 🙂 I will definitely look for another place in the house for it…it fits so nicely in our decor and I love that it was done by a friend!!
xoxo
In light of your comment about your favorite colors, I’m thinking black and whites may not excite your eye. I’ve viewed the pics from Melissa and they are lovely. Many of your blue and pink tones are in those photos. Those framed in gold would look lovely above the pink piece.
