I will be honest with y’all. Peter and I have been putting this trip off for a couple of years now. We were so worried about the chaos of the amusement parks and the stress involved in planning, that we kept procrastinating.
I was so intimidated about the planning portion as I had never been to Disney before (8 years between me and my youngest sibling and crazy sports schedules prevented us from ever actually going). Then a friend (thanks Kim!) recommended a Disney travel agent to help me plan, make ALL of the arrangements and provide lots of HELPFUL recommendations (thank you Ashley!!) and it made planning for the trip enjoyable, so much less stressful and EXCITING.
The truth be told, as a result of our procrastination, the timing with our kids ages was PERFECT. Everything was still magical, Shay will hopefully remember most of it and Chandler and Shay stayed in the stroller most of the time!!
The minute we stepped off the plane, the kids were floating on Cloud 9. Just walking through the airport, they stopped and asked for pictures. Look at those smiles!!
Once we arrived at our hotel, The Grand Floridian, we quickly changed into bathing suits and went out to enjoy the (heated!) pool.
Day 2 was at Magical Kingdom. This is when Peter and I both realized, there was nothing to have been scared of, this place WAS truly MAGICAL and deserved all the hype it receives!!
First we enjoyed breakfast at Belle’s Castle and then immediately after, met her in person!!
From there, we headed to meet Ariel!!
After meeting Belle and Ariel, we cruised around the park. Because it was so darn cold that morning, it was not too crowded and we rode A LOT of rides. Seeing the looks on their faces all day long was truly priceless!!
No real explanation for Shay’s face except he was still pretty pooped from getting up at 4 AM the morning before for a 6 AM flight. Kids 😉
We ended the evening with a character dinner at our resort…it was a nice surprise for the kids!!
Day 2 was Epcot.
…such a fun day. It began with Turtle Talk with Crush (awesome) and enjoyed the aquarium as well as a 3D showing of The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
Roller Coaster rides were a BLAST
We then headed over to the different countries. Oh Canada was first.
We stopped in Paris, France and had some amazing crepes!!
The final stop was Norway were the kids met Anna and Elsa!! Talk about a highlight!!
From there we made a stop in China!!
We finished the day with another character dinner…another meeting with Belle, then Cinderella, Aurora, Sleeping Beauty and Ariel!!
