This past Sunday, I had the privilege to attend another Washington Redskins Cheerleader Pro Bowl Brunch. This is an annual tradition that those who have attended Pro Bowl have continued so we can welcome each Washington Redskins Cheerleader that was selected by the squad into our Pro Bowl sisterhood.
Each squad in the NFL chooses their cheerleader to represent their squad and team in the Pro Bowl. The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders choose ours by the members of the squad voting. I think a couple other squads do it the same way. There are teams where the fans vote or even other teams where upper management chooses their representation.
Chelsea, who cheered from 2006-2011 and went to Pro Bowl in 2011, her family owns Potomac Point Vineyard and Winery in Stafford, VA and was kind enough to host our brunch this year. If you have the opportunity to visit there, I highly suggest it. I actually hosted my Bridal Brunch there back in 2008!!
This year, Kellie was selected by the squad 🙂 We were beyond excited to welcome her to our growing sisterhood of Pro Bowl girls. It is an experience of a lifetime and I cannot wait to hear Kellie’s experience!!
We gifted Kellie and rhinestoned Pro Bowl 2018 Redskins jacket. She will wear it to and from all of her events (which there are A LOT, multiple ones a day) and hopefully think of us when she does!!
We did a round table of our advice, experience and words and wisdom. Rachel, who went last year, began as she has the most recent and applicable advice.
Then it was picture time with the guest of honor!!
I then requested a picture with all the gals I cheered with…I ADORE these ladies!!
GeNienne – cheered from 1999-2007 and went to Pro Bowl in 2004
Jamilla – cheered from 2003-2012 and went to Pro Bowl in 2005
Heather – cheered from 2004-2010 and went to Pro Bowl in 2010
I cheered from 2000-2008 and went to Pro Bowl in 2008
Chelsea – cheered from 2006-2011 and went to Pro Bowl in 2011 **I was Chelsea’s co-captain her Rookie year and captain her 2nd year!! Fun little fact 🙂
Then a picture of what I referred to as the “Young guns”
And just because this blog post got me all nostalgic, I went back and looked at my Pro Bowl Album and figured I would share some of those photos.
GAME DAY!!
