CURRENT BOUTIQUE SKIRT

CURRENT BOUTIQUE SKIRT

How FABULOUS is this skirt!?!?  Would you believe me if I told you that it is second hand??  It is a Tracy Reese skirt and new, retails right around $300.  At Current Boutique, it was under $100 and was in perfect condition.

I have been following Current Boutique for a while now, impressed by their quantity of quality pieces and affordable prices.  Compared to other second-hand or vintage online stores, Current Boutique’s website is easy to navigate and find items you want. The pictures are great, the item descriptions are clear and honest. What I love and appreciate is that they only carry items in “Good to Excellent” condition.

You will always get the best curated selection of designer gems from the site.  Moreover, what I find extremely convenient are the fun curated sections: “Shop by looks” – Classic Beauty, Rebel Style Star, Downtown Darling & Polished Professional.  I personally shop by occasion, so it’s perfect for me!!

There is also have a “Trends” section where you can shop the latest trends such as Bold Ruffles, Chic & Easy, Festival Essentials,  Summer Soiree, etc

Each piece comes professionally packaged.  The skirt is in immaculate condition and there was no odor.  That is always a pet peeve of mine when shopping pre-owned.  Not the case with this skirt or a gorgeous coat I’ll show you next week!!

There is a wide variety of price points and designer items, everything from French Connection to Gucci.
If you are looking to consign your items, you can mail in items across the USA to the Boutique.  They provide a free shipping label and you ship to them to sell for you.  Super simple!  And, if you are local, they are 4 brick and mortar stores to shop and consign – Bethesda, Clarendon, Logan Circle and Old Town.

Today is the 4th edition of My Friday Favorites in Southern Maryland and I am talking about a place that is close to my heart – Yellow Door Art Studio in the Historic Town Square of Leonardtown.  Carrie Patterson, the studio owner as well as an amazing artist, has become a friend over the last couple of years.  Yellow Door Art Studio is also where we had Chandler’s 2nd birthday and to say it was a HIT, is actually an understatement.  Check out those pictures here.

Shay was only 4 months old, so having Chandler’s party at the house was not an option for this new mama of 3 (3, 2 and 4 months at the time!!).  Chandler LOVED to draw at the time, so this was the perfect idea!!

There are so many ideas for the birthday girl or boy to choose from to paint … my kids certainly could not narrow it down during our recent visit.  Matti Jane was twirling in excitement around Poppy, Belle and then had her breath taken away when she spotted the Eiffel Tower.  Chandler had her heart set on Peppa Pig and then spotted a sparkly unicorn.  Shay saw the Super Heros and wouldn’t budge…hahaha.  And they were perfectly placed right below the Minion.

We have taken a couple of Art Camps at the Studio but have been so busy this Summer that it was impossible to focus in on one camp.  But, I am so happy that classes are offered at Saturday mornings.  I am going to check out the schedule for Saturdays and Art for Tots (ages 2-8), 930-1130 AM, to see when I can take the kids.  It is $15/session.  Pre-registration is required 48 hours in advance…check out the schedule!!

Yellow Door Art Studio offers a variety of classes, workshops, camps and also private lessons.  And, they are not just for kids.  Custom art parties for any occasion (pre-wedding activities, birthdays, girls night out, couples night out…you name it) are for as few as 4 attendees up to 25 students.

During the Summer months, Yellow Door Art Studio offers so many cool and interesting camps for kids of all ages.  We got to see young artists working on oil paintings of still life during the Titians Tabletop: Intro to Oil and Acrylic Painting.

As well as acrylic paintings…

Yellow Door Art Studio also has a Community Art Gallery where 12 exhibitions a year showcase local and national artists.  The exhibitions are open each First Friday from 5-8 PM.  This is also an open studio at this time where kids and adults can make a project and take it home.  If you are in the Square on a First Friday, I highly recommend stopping by, checking out the impressive artwork and also have fun with your own hand on a project.

There is also a Student Gallery in the studio.  The kids and I had fun looking at the artwork.

Something I am VERY EXCITED about, Yellow Door Art Studio has partnered with SPICE Studio for the Fall to offer a kids art class at the same time of SPICE Studio workout classes.  Make sure to check out Yellow Door Art Studio website for days and times!!

Check out their website for current class schedules and camp information.  It is honestly a guaranteed fun time!!

Happy Hump Day!!  We have finally recovered from getting back from vacation.  Shay and Chandler really didn’t nap much while we were at the beach, so the last couple of days have been trying to get them to catch up on sleep.

Wednesday also puts me closer to a bestie’s 40th birthday celebration this weekend!!  (HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELANIE (AND CARIN!!)) To say I am EXCITED is quite an understatement…hahaha.  All my girls, in one house, at the beach, celebrating a milestone…PURE JOY!!

I wore this super simple look last week while we were at the beach.  I packed much dressier tops but that particular evening, I wanted to be SIMPLE!!  This v-neck is another steal from Target and costs $8!!  To keep it Summer-y and light I paired it with my favorite wedges and my FAVORITE Summer handbag.  Are y’all tired of this handbag yet…I can’t stop using it!!
