Burgundy Faux Leather Pleated Skirt…Casual

I decided to go out of my color box with this burgundy skirt.  This J.Crew faux leather pleated skirt (on sale with code WARMSTYLE) also comes in black and that would have been my natural route, but decided I wanted to try and challenge myself.  The first time I wore it, I paired the burgundy with a pink striped shirt and pink rockstud flats for a dressier look, but I really like this casual vibe with these GAP and Old Navy layered turtlenecks and silver metallic shoes.

Two other things to note – Layers and menswear inspired shoes.

Layering never really goes out of style so try it now and keep it going.  It adds a layer of confident fashion-ing (yes, I made that word up, haha) and usually adds a pop of color and/or texture.  Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Secondly, menswear inspired shoes are really hot now.  If you are willing to try the tend, there are many affordable options out there.  What I love, these shoes are both fashionable and COMFORTABLE.  Can I get an AMEN!!
