This was the outfit I wore to my husband’s 40th birthday party. (If you didn’t see that post, check out all the party planning details HERE).
I knew I wanted something special and unique, but also wanted it classic and wanted to keep it fairly neutral. But, I honestly had no idea where to start looking because I didn’t have a vision (if you follow my blog…you know I have a lot of “visions”, hahaha)
I shop on Etsy A LOT, mostly for gifts for others, and for some reason, this skirt kept popping up in my “what we think you’d like” feed. That was weird because I haven’t purchased clothes from Etsy in the past. I thought about this skirt for a couple months…no lie. I finally bit the bullet because I knew if I didn’t, I would have completely regretted it. So glad I did!! It truly fit the bill – special, unique, classy and neutral.
I had originally thought of pairing it with a black lace bodysuit that I have (pictured here) since it was an evening party, but after trying it on, thought it was a bit too much of a contrast. The ivory was perfectly soft and the ideal match!!
The way the back of the skirt lays just blows my mind!! It was made so eloquently and flawlessly.
This skirt is a custom made piece. The owner of the shop communicated with me through every step. I was nervous about taking my measurements…what if I didn’t measure in the EXACT right spot…well, she asked that I send her pictures of where I was measuring just to make sure. And let me tell you, this skirt fits me to a T…it was truly made for ME!!
If you are looking for a special piece for a special event, please don’t hesitate on this one. I know it wasn’t my birthday party, but I certainly felt pretty special!!
